The biggest challenge that autonomous cars will have is to consider the fact that no two situations will ever be the same. Vehicles will need to react to specific traffic, pedestrians and road conditions in real time. That is the role that AI will fulfill.
Engineers will not be able to predict and write instructions for every scenario so manufacturers will need to use big data and machine learning for the vehicle to act like a human driver.
This requires a huge amount of processing power and extremely advanced sensors, but some of the biggest car and tech companies are all investing millions into AI research. We plan to work closely with these companies and it is our intention, again, to be a market leader and supplier in this fast-growing and promising field.
